A magna carta: is Latin for 'great charter', it's a document signed in 1215 by King John of England that gave certain political and legal rights to some English people.With French and Scottish supports, they formed an army (called 'the Army of God') and on 17 May 1215, they captured London John had no alternative but to negotiate with them, so he met the rebels at Runnymede, near London, on 15 June 1215, and agreed to Magna Carta.Whilst the ideas in Magna Carta are regarded as the foundation of our freedom nowadays, most of the sections related to the amount of money John had demanded from the barons and the way he abused the justice system.In May 1215, 40 barons renounced their feudal ties to the king.Magna Carta contained 63 promises about what the king rights and limitations.They refused.

John had levied a tax from the barons to pay for his campaign in Normandy. After his defeat at Bouvines he asked the barons for more money for another campaign. They refused. In May 1215, 40 barons renounced their feudal ties to the king. With French and Scottish supports, they formed an army (called 'the Army of God') and on 17 May 1215, they captured London John had no alternative but to negotiate with them, so he met the rebels at Runnymede, near London, on 15 June 1215, and agreed to Magna Carta.
Magna Carta contained 63 promises about what the king rights and limitations. It also set up a Council of 25 barons to make sure John kept his promises. This was a direct attack on John's royal authority, and as soon as he could, John asked the Pope for permission to ignore Magna Carta ( on the grounds that he had been forced to sign it).
Whilst the ideas in Magna Carta are regarded as the foundation of our freedom nowadays, most of the sections related to the amount of money John had demanded from the barons and the way he abused the justice system. Other demands by the barons were clearly just John's enemies getting a good deal out of the defeated king, for example: a £100 limit on the tax barons had to pay to inherit their lands, and the king could not sell or deny justice to anyone.
