What is Social Work?

Social Work: The Concept

Social work is a new and young profession which
appeared during the late nineteenth and early
twentieth century.
Social work is a human profession, which works
with the society and its components (individuals,
groups, organizations and communities).
The central target of technical social work practice is
matching somethings in person and social situation.
❖ Social work encompasses professional activities
directed at improving human and social
conditions and alleviating human distress and
social problems.
❖ The practice of social work requires knowledge of
human development and behavior.
Professional Social work in Egypt:
