Relevant researchers [24] reported that the fibre length of atmospheric dust ranges mainly from 50–250 μm and 200–700 μm to 50–2000 μm. In this work, the average particle size of microplastics in indoor environments is 66.15 μm. Among the studied environments, the average particle size of office microplastics was 66.85 μm; the average particle size of atmospheric laboratory MPs was 46.96 μm; the average particle size of dining hall MPs was 96.71 μm; and the average particle size of dormitory MPs was 54.07 μm (Table 1). Colour has also used by other researchers as a method of classification [29]. We determined the following MP colours through visual observations with two microscopes: black, transparent, blue, reddish brown and other rare colours (Fig. S2). Among them, white, gold, chestnut, transparent, khaki, solid wood, orange green, plum, light rose, bright grey, bright sky blue, bright golden yellow,
