This is a cross sectional study involving subjects referred to the comprehensive dental care clinic at the faculty of dental medicine, Umm Al-Quran university, Makkah, kingdom of Saudi Arabia.All patients presenting to the clinic with intraoral and extraoral pain will be examined by taking full dental and medical history by a trained 6th year dental student and supervised by consultants.Data will be obtained from a validated questionnaire and clinical examination.First, demographic data will be obtained, followed by pain characteristics (Hargreaves, Cohen(2011).Cohen's pathways of the pulp (Tenth Edition).Mosby), and quality of life using the following studies(Shugars et al., 2006).The questions were formulated in English language then modified and translated to Arabic.The survey includes 3 parts.

All patients presenting to the clinic with intraoral and extraoral pain will be examined by taking full dental and medical history by a trained 6th year dental student and supervised by consultants. Dental diagnosis will be given after a through clinical examination using dental charts (DMFT is a valuable index used for define and control the oral health status in a community ( Moradi, Ghobad, et al. "Evaluation of oral health status based on the decayed, missing and filled teeth (DMFT) index." Iranian journal of public health 48.11 (2019), periodontal status and dental hygiene), and radiographs. Teeth sensibility testing and TMD examination using DC/TMD form will be undertaken.
A questionnaire will be given to the patient before treatment (Q1) as well as following treatment (Q2). Patients will be reviewed after three days (Q3) to assess the pain characteristics, and quality of life.
Inclusion criteria:
1- patients above the age of 18 years old.
2- patient presenting with intraoral or extraoral pain.
Exclusion criteria:
1- patient with communication difficulties
2- patients who does not complete the questionnaire.
3- patients doesn’t feel pain right now.
