All calculations of the neutral compounds and their radicals, anions
and cations were calculated using Gaussian 09 software package and
for molecular visualization, Gauss View was used . The molecular structures are optimized by DFT method combining with B3LYP
hybrid functional at 6-31G (d, p) basis set without any imaginary frequency attesting global minima at the potential energy surface
of the molecule. Solvent effect of different polarity (water, benzene and
methanol) was done by using polarizable continuum model (PCM) implemented in the Gaussian 09 software . Moreover, the quantum
chemical parameters, such as frontier orbital 𝐸𝐻𝑂𝑀𝑂, 𝐸𝐿𝑈𝑀𝑂, energy
gap and spin density of the radicals, were also calculated using B3LYP/6-
31G (d,p) basis set. The thermodynamic descriptors of the studied compounds associated with free radical scavenging activity (BDE, IP, PDE,
PA and ETE)
