Students recognise that they must solely use their computers for school- related tasks when they are at school. To provide a stable and productive atmosphere in which students can develop responsible decision-making capabilities and self-control that can last a lifetime, it is important to create boundaries around digital literacy.

OCS used installed software to track elementary students, but found it was too heavy-handed for the upper school. We wanted our students to realise that they should be on target and that this could be checked by the teachers, while also promoting personal accountability to better prepare them for college life.

We noticed that NetRef provided the balance we were looking for in the hunt for an in-classroom tool for teachers. On the different devices students use, it does not require installation. It includes in its Internet management system every computer linked to the school network. Teachers do not have to worry about students going around the security and building hotspots because when a student's computer is not on the network, the system automatically warns you.
