Chapter 5 Summary
In Chapter 5, Mollie, the horse, stops working and breaks the farm's rules. She secretly talks to humans, takes sugar from them, and wears ribbons. The other animals see this and try to stop her, but Mollie doesn't care. Soon, she leaves the farm to live with humans, showing she never truly believed in Animalism.

At a big meeting, Snowball gives a passionate speech about the windmill, and many animals agree with him. Just as the animals are about to vote, Napoleon suddenly calls his trained dogs. They chase Snowball off the farm, and he disappears forever. Napoleon then becomes the sole leader of the farm. Later, Napoleon surprises the animals by saying they will build the windmill after all. He claims it was his idea from the start, and the animals begin working hard again.
