incremental lines of dentin: 1.These lines result from incomplete calcification due to metabolic disturbances at birth or changes in environment and nutritionCounter lines of Owens: Hypocalcified lines seen in longitudinal ground sections of dentin, indicating disturbances in the dentin matrix and mineralization process.Imbrication or von Ebner lines: Fine lines in dentin that run perpendicular to the dentinal tubules, indicating the growth pattern of dentin.Neonatal lines: Separate prenatal and postnatal dentin, primarily found in deciduous and first permanent molars. The distance between these lines corresponds to the daily rate of dentin formation, which decreases as root formation progresses.2.3.
