Abdullah Al-Rabiah has been the general supervisor of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center since May 2015, and an advisor to the Saudi Royal Court since April 2014.

He was Minister of Health in Saudi Arabia between 2009 and 2014, and served as Chairman of the Board of Directors at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center between 2010 and 2014. He was also a professor at the College of Medicine at King Saud University in Riyadh between 2005 and 2009.

Al-Rabiah authored 4 books related to Siamese twins and pediatric surgery. He also authored and participated in publishing more than 72 research papers and working papers in specialized, peer-reviewed scientific journals.

He received the "King Abdulaziz Medal, Excellent Class” in 2003, the "King Abdulaziz Medal, First Class" in 2003, the "Excellence Award" with the rank of Commander from the Polish President in 2005, and the "Medal of Military Medical Merit" from the US Army in 2002. and the Polish Doctors' Order for Humanitarian Services in 2007.

He won the "Medal of Excellence in Pediatric Surgery and Separation of Twins" in 2008 from the Polish Medical Academy, the Mary Kingsley Medal from the Liverpool School of Public Health in 2011, and the Sheikh Hamdan Award for Distinguished Medical Personalities in the Arab World in The Seventh Dubai International Conference for Medical Sciences in the UAE in 2012.

He received a pediatric surgery fellowship in 1987 from Dalhousie University in Canada, a general surgery fellowship in 1986 from the University of Alberta, and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 1979 from King Saud University in Saudi Arabia.
