As an HR Trainee at Saudi Awwal Bank, my role involved a wide range of activities in recruitment, training, and daily HR operations. Here’s a detailed look at the tasks I undertook:
Recruitment and Onboarding:
Identifying Hiring Needs: I began by collaborating closely with department heads to understand their staffing needs. This involved discussing the specific skills and qualifications required for various roles within their teams.
Sourcing and Screening Candidates: My role was to source potential candidates through various channels such as: LinkedIn, recruiting agencies and business referrals, shortlisting resumes who meet the job criteria then conducted initial phone screenings to assess their qualifications and verify that their information is accurate and up-to-date.
Assessing Language Skills: Since effective communication is crucial, I assess the candidates’ English proficiency during phone screenings. This is to ensure that there would be no misunderstandings or issues in communication, whether it was through emails, phone calls or face-to-face meetings.
Scheduling and Coordinating Interviews: For candidates who passed the initial screening, I schedule interviews with both HR manager and the relevant department manager. I coordinated these appointments to fit the schedules of all involved parties. Once the interview is conducted I manage to collect interviews feedback to proceed further.
Finalizing Hiring: Following the interviews, I helped with the final steps of the hiring process. This step includes creating staff IDs for new employees and conducting background checks to ensure that the candidates were trustworthy and a good fit for the organization.
