RhoGAM Administration: If the mother is Rh-negative and the baby is or potentially could be Rh-positive, she will receive injections of RhIg. The typical schedule for RhIg administration is:
Around 28 weeks of gestation: This helps prevent the mother's body from producing Rh antibodies during pregnant
-Within 72 hours after delivery: If the baby is confirmed to be Rh-positive, the mother receives another dose of RhIg to prevent antibody formation in response to any fetal blood that may have entered her circulation during birth
-After any event that could cause mixing of fetal and maternal blood: This includes miscarriage, abortion, ectopic pregnancy, abdominal trauma, amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling, or any significant vaginal bleeding during pregnancy
