In conclusion, the media industry has both ethical and legal issues. Issues such as advertising to children are ethical in nature as they are not clearly defined in the law. However, societal concerns on the vulnerability of children to misinformation and manipulation makes advertisement an ethical issue. It is however subject to personal interpretations and opinions. On the other hand, the issue of cybercrime and defamation are legal issues that are clearly outlined in the UAE law. Violations of the provisions result in legal consequences within the jurisdiction of the law. It is therefore important for the media stakeholders to take into account these issues to minimize the negative effects of non-conformance.
