 Post term infant: An infant born after 42 weeks of gestational age, regardless of birth weight.

 Associated with the state of maturity of the infant. Chemical disturbance e.g.: hypoglycemia, hypocalcaemia.
 Immature organs and systems. E.g.: hyper-bilirubinemia, respiratory distress, hypothermia.
