‏• Scientific method is a set of systematic techniques used to acquire, modify, and integrate knowledge concerning observabl and measurable phenomena.

‏1- Identify a problem
‏We determine what to observe in a way that will allow us to answer questions about the problem we are investigating. According to the following:
‏A- Determine an area of interest: it is important to select a topic of research that interests you.

• Review the literature: the literature refers to the full database of scientific articles.
Reviewing the scientific literature is important because it allows you to identify what is known and what can still be learned about the behavior of interest to you.

• Identify new ideas in your area of interest: the new idea can then be restated as predictions or
expectations based on what is known.

‏D- develop a research hypothesis: the research hypothesis is a specific, testable claim or prediction about what you expect to observe given a set of circumstances. Note that the research hypothesis we stated is derived from findings in the previous literature.

‏What is a Good Hypothesis?

• A good hypothesis should fulfill three conditions:

• Must be adequate for its purpose

• Must be testable

• Must be better than its rivals

• Guides the direction of the study

• Identifies facts that are relevant

• Suggests which form of research design is appropriate

• Provides a framework for organizing the conclusions that result
