The 22-year-old broke the NCAA scoring record during her time in college with the Iowa Hawkeyes and was the first draft pick when she joined the Indiana Fever, helping the team reach the playoffs for the first time in eight years. Instead, it has been suggested that Clark wants to stay out of the limelight during the off-season rather than starting the Unrivaled campaign in January.Aside from participating in pro-am golf events, Clark has kept a low profile during the off-season. When asked about her interest in signing for Unrivaled, Clark told the Indianapolis Star: "We'll see. I don't know. Just taking it as it goes, and see if I want to play eventually."

Unrivaled president Alex Bazzell has previosuly admitted the organisation was keeping a space open for Clark, which would explain the creation of two wildcard spots, should the Fever guard decide to change her mind before the New Year."We're always going to have a roster spot for Caitlin Clark," Bazzell told Sportico. "We're not applying a full-court press the way people think... She knows that we have a spot for her when she's ready.
